Work With Me People!

Live Your Life

“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards, they try to have more things or more money, in order to do more of what they want so that they will be happier.

The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do in order to have what you want. ”

Tough Interview Question Series #4 - Failing at the Job

Question: How long are you willing to fail at this job before you succeed?

Answer: What did you say? Fail? I didn't even start yet!
When we go through the interview process, the last thing we're thinking about is failing in our new job. Yet, in many roles, particularly those that require a significant amount of post-hire orientation and training, failure is exactly what is in store.

How does that make you feel? Worried? Anxious? You shouldn't feel that way at all. Starting a new job, and a complicated one at that, is supposed to be a challenge.

At All Children's Hospital we provide our new employees with a lot of orientation and training time. It not only helps them succeed, but it helps ensure we deliver safe, effective and high quality care to our patients.

The next time you're asked about failure, make sure you don't shy away from answering and say: "I'm going to keep working hard and learning until I succeed!"
